clivem Sustainable ICT use in learning centres 1 Jun 27 2008, 12:40 PM EDT by CherylDoig

In the current climate of sustainable use of just about everything, I thought it would be a good idea to discuss issues of sustainable ICT use in learning centres. How are we using ICT sustainably? What are the considerations for sustainable ICT use? Are there any other issues? For the purposes of this thread I consider learnng centres as anywhere outside the home that people go to learn. For example, early childhood centres right through to tertiary level. Are there things we can learn from each other?

The budget delivered us some money for ICT tools in our schools - the scary thing is that while we are all busy plotting and scheming as to how we can get adequate ICT equipment in front of our kids the nature of ICT is changing rapidly. It is no longer about making movies and searching the internet but about collaboration and connection in web environments that are radically changing the way we operate within the digital world. How do we keep up?
